The Last of Us Season 2 to start filming on January 7 next year

HBO's The Last of Us is one of the most successful TV series of 2023. Previously, the production of the second season was stalled due to the Hollywood strike. Now there is good news that the specific start date of the second season has been confirmed.

According to FTIA, the second season of The Last of Us, adapted from the PlayStation masterpiece, will start filming on January 7, 2024. The second season will include some content from The Last of Us 2, but will not cover all of it.

In comparison, the first season of The Last of Us began filming in July 2021, and ended about a year later in June 2022, with the premiere starting on January 15, 2023. The second season should be faster, airing on HBO at the earliest in late 2024, but more likely in early 2025.

The second season of The Last of Us will faithfully reproduce the events in The Last of Us 2. Neil Druckmann has said that the series will launch a third season. In addition, according to industry insider Jeff Sneider, Abby in the second season will be played by actress Kaitlyn Dever. It is said that she has read the relevant script and is currently free.
