"Ip Man 4" box office exceeds 1 billion yuan, official claims to have set the highest record for authentic Kung Fu films

According to the latest news released by Maoyan Movie today (January 11), the total box office of "Ip Man 4: The Finale" starring Donnie Yen exceeded 1 billion at 15:57:45 on January 11, making it the 74th 1 billion movie in Chinese film history. The film has been released for more than 23 days since December 20, 2019.

"Ip Man 4: The Finale" is the sequel to the 2015 film "Ip Man 3" and the fourth and final episode of the "Ip Man series of films". It is directed by Wilson Yip, written by Wong Chi-huan, Fukasawa Hiroshi, Daniel Chan, and Leung Lai-yin, and starred by Donnie Yen, Wu Yue, Vanness Wu, and Scott Adkins; starring Kent Cheng, Danny Chan, Ao Jianian, and Chris Collins; with special introduction by Wanda Lee, and action director Yuen Woo-ping. The film was released on December 20, 2019.

The film tells the story of Bruce Lee who went to the United States to open a martial arts school and offended the local people by teaching martial arts to foreigners. Ip Man appeared in Chinatown in the United States and guided Bruce Lee to shock the entire Chinatown with martial arts and to convince Chinese and foreigners with virtue.
