The Kyoto Animation building that was set on fire was demolished today and the demolition work is expected to be completed in April

According to the latest report from Japanese media today (January 7), the demolition of the Kyoto Animation building in Japan officially began today, and the entire project is expected to last for 3 months. Kyoto Animation is nicknamed "KyoAni", and its works, from storyboards, original paintings, backgrounds, to post-production photography and special effects, are almost all completed by internal employees.

Kyoto Animation, a well-known Japanese animation company, was maliciously set on fire on July 18 last year, resulting in 33 deaths. The official demolition project began today and the entire project is expected to last about 3 months. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe tweeted on the same day to express his regret. According to the construction plan schedule announced on the scene, the internal demolition work will begin today, and the dismantling of the building is expected to be completed before the end of April this year.

After experiencing the most tragic arson accident in the history of animation, Kyoto Animation’s decades of hard work were almost destroyed, but the fire did not burn everything. The animated film "Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll" will be released in mainland China on January 10, 2020.
