Hayao Miyazaki's new work is only 15% completed in 3 years, and only one minute of screen can be completed every month

According to foreign media Animenewsnetwork recently reported, "How Do You Want to Live?", the latest feature-length animated work adapted from the novel of the same name by Studio Ghibli, has only been completed about 15% from the start of the entire project three and a half years ago to the end of October this year. The slow progress is related to the work speed of Hayao Miyazaki himself.

Hayao Miyazaki

Producer Suzuki Toshio said that Miyazaki could produce 7-10 minutes of action per month in the past, so when they planned "How Do You Want to Live?", they arranged it based on 5 minutes per month or 1 hour per year. But now Miyazaki can only produce 1 minute of animation per month. After all, the 78-year-old man has retired many times, but every time he can't help but return to work to produce new animations.

Suzuki Toshio said that there is no deadline for "How Do You Want to Live?". Even if the new work takes a long time, he will not think that this is Miyazaki's last work. He said: "As long as he is alive, he will continue to make animations."
