The Mortal Kombat movie was announced to be released in 2021

The live-action movie of the same name adapted from the well-known fighting game "Mortal Kombat" was originally scheduled to be released on March 5, 2021. Recently, Warner officially moved up the release date of the film. Unfortunately, fans of the game "Mortal Kombat" still cannot see this movie next year, because the latest release date is still 2021 (January 15, 2021).

It is reported that the advance release date of the "Mortal Kombat" movie is part of Warner Bros.' schedule rescheduling, which will pit this film against the female action movie "355" (in which Fan Bingbing starred).

According to foreign media, if the previous date (March 5) is released, the "Mortal Kombat" movie will face off against the Sony Columbia movie "Masters of the Universe" and Fox's animated film "Nimona". It seems that Warner Bros. is not confident that this R-rated action movie will compete with more family-friendly fantasy movies.

"Mortal Kombat" is directed by Simon McQuoid, a commercial director, for the first time. The film has a very strong cast, including Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion (Hazo Haseji), Ludi Lin (Black Mirror Season 5) as Liu Kang, and Indonesian actor Joe Taslim (Fast and Furious 6, Star Trek 3) as Sub-Zero.
