Johnny Depp was replaced! The horror film "The Invisible Man" released stills

After a long period of silence, the sci-fi horror film "The Invisible Man" released by Universal Pictures finally released the first batch of stills today. It is almost a one-woman show for the heroine Elizabeth Moss. Her boyfriend turned into an invisible man and always pestered her, which made her fall into chaos. "The Invisible Man" and "The Mummy" are both classic IPs of Universal Pictures. There have been many versions of the movie in film history, and this is the latest version.

Originally, Universal Pictures tried to imitate Marvel Studios to create a "dark monster universe", and the first movie was "The Mummy", and superstar Tom Cruise was invited to star. The plan at that time was to star Johnny Depp in "The Invisible Man", and then "The Wolf Man" and so on. However, the investment of $125 million in "The Mummy" only brought in $400 million in global box office, which was definitely a loss.

Therefore, the second work of the "Dark Monster Universe", "The Invisible Man", gave up inviting Johnny Depp. Even though the promotional photos were taken, Universal still ruthlessly cut the budget of "The Invisible Man". Now "The Invisible Man" is a medium-cost horror film. The director is Leigh Whannell, who was the screenwriter of "Insidious" and he is an old partner of James Wan, so he also made a cameo appearance in "Aquaman".

It is reported that "The Invisible Man" is scheduled to be released in North America on February 28, 2020.
