According to foreign media The Hollywood Reporter, the late legendary Hollywood actor James Dean died in a car accident in 1955 at the age of 24. However, he will unexpectedly "return" to the screen through CGI technology: he will "participate" in a Vietnam War film called "Finding Jack". The late cultural icon is famous for films such as "East of Eden" and "Rebel Without a Cause". Finding Jack is directed by Anton Ernst and Ati Golykh and will be produced by the filmmakers' recently formed production company Magic City Films. They will use footage and photographs of Dean during his lifetime in the film, having obtained the rights to Dean's image from his family. Canadian film VFX production company Imagine Engine will work with South African VFX company MOI Worldwide to recreate what the filmmakers call "a real-life version of James Dean." Reuters reported on the incident, mentioning that Dean's fans were anxious and crazy about this - "High-tech should not be used in this way" The director said: "We are deeply honored by the support his family has given us and will do everything we can to ensure that his legacy as one of the most epic movie stars to date remains intact. His family sees this as his fourth film, and it's one he never made. We don't want to disappoint his fans." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dean's "performance" will be constructed through "full body" CGI using actual footage and photos. Another actor will voice him. "Finding Jack" is adapted from the novel by Gareth Crocker. The main plot of the film is based on the existence and abandonment of more than 10,000 military dogs at the end of the Vietnam War. Dean will play a supporting role named Rogan. Director Ernst said: "We looked everywhere for the right person to play Rogan, because Rogan's character arc is extremely complex. After several months of research, we decided to choose James Dean." |
