Star of Scream 6 says the new film is 100 times bloodier than the previous one

Scream 6 star Melissa Barrera has warned fans that the new take on the classic horror film is not for the faint of heart. In a recent interview, Barrera said the film will likely be "hundreds of times more gory."

“With the last Scream, we were very careful to stick to the spirit of the franchise,” Barrera said. “But with this one, we’re going all out.”

Barrera said that directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillette were "always asking for more blood and more sweat" on set, which later became "more blood, because they always wanted more." In the previous film, the directors had been "suppressing their bloody dreams."

Scream 6 is set to be released on March 31, 2023.
