Liu Cixin: Shanghai Fortress is not that bad, it is also a victim

During the 2019 China Science Fiction Conference, Liu Cixin was interviewed by the Film Channel and talked about "Shanghai Fortress". He said that this is a "normal science fiction film" and "no art category will be born because of a certain work and die because of a certain work."

Liu Cixin said: "It (Shanghai Fortress) is not as bad as what people say on the Internet. The negative feedback on the Internet, the lower the score, the lower it is rated. It is an abnormal orientation. I think it may be a victim. We need a lot of movies like The Wandering Earth and Shanghai Fortress to appear. We need a lot of attempts to accumulate experience and drive our entire industry."
