China's National Day box office exceeded 4.3 billion yuan, with three movies being extremely popular

Unconsciously, the National Day holiday has passed. Did you go to the cinema to watch any movies during the National Day holiday? According to the data from the "China Movie Box Office App" of the National Film Special Fund Office, as of 21:00 on October 7, the box office of the National Day in 2019 exceeded 4.357 billion yuan, setting a new record for the National Day box office. In comparison, the box office of movies during the National Day in mainland China in 2016-2018 were 1.58 billion, 2.629 billion, and 1.904 billion respectively.

During the National Day holiday, three movies were extremely popular, namely "My People, My Country", "The Captain" and "The Climbers", and their box office results were also quite impressive.

As of 9:00 p.m. on October 7, the box office of My People, My Country has exceeded 2.21 billion yuan, easily winning the 2019 National Day box office champion, followed by The Captain (1.96 billion yuan) and The Climbers (818 million yuan). At the same time, the cumulative box office of My People, My Country and The Captain also jumped to the fifth and sixth place on the 2019 mainland box office list.

In addition, according to official data released by IMAX China, as of October 7, the total box office of IMAX theaters in mainland China in 2019 so far is approximately RMB 2.25 billion, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2018.
