The animated film "Mulan: Rise of a Warrior" debuts, Mulan proudly stands to fight the enemy

Yesterday (September 25), the animated film "Mulan: Rise of a Warrior" debuted at the 19th National Cinema Domestic Film Promotion Conference, which surprised the audience. The concept poster was also released at the conference, with Mulan's long red hair and a sword standing proudly to fight against the dark enemy. The film is jointly produced by Jinchuan Culture, China Film Group, Dadi Film, Pearl River Film, China Film Zongheng, Jinyi Film, etc. The film will be released in spring 2020.

"Mulan: Rise of a Warrior" is the world's first 3D animation to tell the story of Hua Mulan. The story is based on the original novel but has been reasonably adapted. Mulan has dreamed of becoming a heroine since she was a child, but she has suffered repeated setbacks after joining the army for her father. She gritted her teeth and persevered in facing love and friendship, and finally truly understood the meaning of "the greatest hero is one who serves the country and the people."

Regarding the original intention of making Mulan, the creative team said: "In 1998, Disney filmed a 2D version of Mulan. We are very grateful to Disney for bringing this classic Chinese IP to the world. But until now, China has not had its own Mulan animated film. This is a pity, and it is also the source of our strong sense of responsibility and mission as Chinese cartoonists. We always believe that Chinese stories should be told by Chinese people. Therefore, we started the Mulan project in 2015. After four years of hard work, we hope to show the Mulan spirit flowing in the blood of Chinese people on the big screen through our efforts."

“Whether it is Monkey King: Hero is Back or Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World, modern interpretations of traditional Chinese culture have provided extremely rich materials for film art creation. Rooting in tradition to develop the future and carrying forward the excellent national culture are the pursuits of all Chinese filmmakers. As a unique cultural symbol in Chinese history, we need to let Mulan shine with new brilliance in today's society and let the spirit of Mulan continue to spread.”

As an innovative work of domestic animated films and classic traditional IP, the creative team of "Mulan: Rise of a Warrior" said: "This time, we will reinterpret the Chinese Mulan from the perspective of contemporary young people; at the same time, no matter how the times change, Mulan's spirit of defending the country will always remain in the genes of the Chinese people. We believe that this time Mulan will be more Chinese."

In recent years, domestic animation has developed well. The animated film "Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" has single-handedly supported this year's summer season, raking in nearly 5 billion yuan in box office. Many industry insiders attending the meeting have great interest and expectations for the domestic animation Mulan.
