No need to review any movies before watching Deadpool vs. Wolverine

Not only does Deadpool belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which is a behemoth in its own right, but it also incorporates Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, which means Fox's X-Men movies have become part of the franchise as well.

However, director Shawn Levy assures everyone that no prior study is needed to watch the new film. "I was a good student in school, and I do my homework as an adult. But I definitely don't want to do my homework when I go to the movies," he said. "I certainly made this movie with respect and gratitude because the fans have a high level of knowledge of these characters and the myths and legends of this world. But I don't want to make that assumption. This movie is made for entertainment, and it doesn't require the audience to go in with prior research."

The film will see Deadpool and Wolverine team up - and based on the trailer, it looks like they'll be tasked with saving the divine timeline. Of course, this raises some questions given how Loki Season 2 ended.

Levy previously said: "When writing the story of "Deadpool and Wolverine", I feel honored every day because you are telling the iconic characters played by two superstars. This also gives me an opportunity. This is the third Deadpool movie, but it is not "Deadpool 3". This is a completely different movie that focuses very much on the cooperation between Deadpool and Wolverine. It will not imitate the first two movies. They are great, but this is a two-person character adventure movie."

Deadpool vs. Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26.
