According to foreign media reports, Netflix's live-action version of "One Piece" Season 2 will be launched on the streaming platform sometime in 2025. Production is expected to start in June 2024 and end in January 2025. This is similar to the production cycle of the first season. The live-action version of "One Piece" Season 1 was filmed for six months and 22 days. The live-action first season of One Piece was released on Netflix in August 2023, becoming the most watched TV show in 84 countries around the world in its first weekend, breaking the record previously set by Stranger Things. The series is based on the popular manga and anime of the same name, and tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, an energetic and ambitious teenager who wants nothing more than to become the Pirate King. The first season ends with Luffy successfully forming a pirate group, and a new character Smoker is hinted at in the final post-credits scene. Tony Tony Chopper is also previewed in the second season announcement video released by Eiichiro Oda himself. |
