The series is based on the popular manga and anime of the same name, and tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, an energetic and ambitious teenager who wants nothing more than to become the Pirate King. The first season ends with Luffy successfully forming a pirate group, and a new character Smoker is hinted at in the final post-credits scene.
