Sega is filming a new live-action movie about the game Yakuza

According to Variety, Sega is working with 1212 Entertainment/Wild Sheep Content to film a live-action film themed after Yakuza.

Eric Barmack, Robert Grande and Joshua Long will serve as producers for the film. 1212 Entertainment and Wild Sheep Content are currently seeking a screenwriter. No further information has been released on the progress of the production.

The first film adaptation of the Yakuza series was "Yakuza: Prologue" in 2006. A year later, the official "Yakuza: The Movie" was released. The plot of this film, directed by Takashi Miike, continued the content of the first game.
