IT: Chapter 2 will be officially released on September 6. Today (September 4), the film's media ratings were released. IGN gave it a score of 7, and the Rotten Tomatoes rating was 79%, but the MTV rating was only 60. IGN said that even though IT: Chapter 2 failed to present a perfect performance, there are still many scary moments in the film that are worth enjoying. IGN: The heart of the original film is still there in IT: Chapter Two, but it's wrapped up in the bloated trappings of a sequel that's bloated with self-aggrandizement. Director Andy Muschietti built this entire horrible reboot around the compelling performances of its adult and teenage actors. Sadly, IT: Chapter Two never quite finds its footing, treading water without finding any way to wrap up this brilliant story.
