SyFy TV slashes the script: Krypton is cancelled, Lobo spin-off series canceled

The Superman prequel TV series Krypton will not be filming a third season, and the originally planned Lobo spin-off TV series project has also been canceled.

According to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline magazine, SyFy decided to cancel the subsequent filming and broadcasting plans of "Krypton" just after the second season ended. This move may be due to the cold reception of "Krypton". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second season of "Krypton" had only 408,000 viewers, less than a quarter of the 1.8 million viewers in the first season.

It can be said that this ending is very disappointing. SyFy originally attached great importance to the TV series "Krypton". When they announced the return of the second season in May last year, they said that the first season of "Krypton" had the highest subscription volume since SyFy's "Defiance" in 2015. But unfortunately, this momentum did not continue.

Star Cameron Kraft expressed his disappointment on Twitter:

"First of all, I want to thank everyone. I have been living a dream for the past three years, and I will always be a proud son of Krypton. I believe tomorrow will be better."

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, these two series are not hopeless, and Warner Horizon, a subsidiary of Warner, is currently licensing Lobo to other companies. Deadline also stated that a source said Warner Horizon is considering adding Krypton to DC Universe or HBO Max.

It's not just comic book adaptations that SyFy has canceled this year. Previously, their "The Killer" and "Fantasy Happy" were also canceled one after another.
