DC's new drama "Swamp Thing" was cancelled after just one episode

The new DC series Swamp Thing produced by James Wan just premiered last Friday and received good reviews. Unfortunately, the DC Universe streaming platform that broadcasts the series suddenly announced yesterday that it would not renew the series after 10 episodes. Swamp Thing also became the first DC Universe series to be cancelled, which is confusing.

The show was cancelled just after the first episode was aired, and the remaining 9 episodes of this season will be aired as usual

As early as two months before the show was aired, "Swamp Thing" encountered its first crisis while it was still being filmed. Due to an error in government documents, North Carolina, where the show was filmed, tore up the $40 million tax breaks that had been promised, equivalent to half of the show's production budget.

The huge increase in costs led to the show's decision to reduce the original 13 episodes to 10. North Carolina's new tax policy also means that once the show is renewed, it will not be possible to return to North Carolina for the second season, and a new location will have to be chosen. Development costs will continue to rise.

Based on the comic book of the same name, Swamp Thing follows the story of Abby Arcane (played by Crystal Reed), who investigates a deadly swamp virus in a small town in Louisiana and soon discovers that the swamp holds secrets of mystery and terror. When unexplained terror spreads through the quagmire, no one is safe...

In the comics, "Swamp Thing"'s real name is Alec Holland. He was originally a scientist. While conducting secret experiments in the swamp, he accidentally detonated a bomb, causing his body to merge with the swamp, turning him into a half-human, half-plant monster that can control plants. He later joined the Justice League Dark.
