Gamora actor: If Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't end, it will be a big loss for Marvel

Gamora actor Zoe Saldaña has said goodbye to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't mean she thinks Guardians of the Galaxy is over for good.

Saldana told the Discourse podcast that she'll be in the "front row" celebrating the return of Guardians of the Galaxy, but she hinted that she thinks it's a good idea for Marvel to recast her character Gamora.

"I mean, I think she's gone [forever] for me so far, but I feel like Gamora hasn't really gone," Saldana explained. "I think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn't find a way to bring back Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a fan-favorite bunch of goofballs, you know? And then they have someone like James Gunn at the helm - who's such a great writer and so perfect for this genre. It's great for the genre as well."

At this point, it's unclear what plans, if any, Marvel has for Guardians of the Galaxy. With a few exceptions like Don Cheadle's Colonel James Rhodes, Disney has shown little interest in reimagining its most famous characters, preferring instead to build on legacy stories like it did with Captain America.
