Zhang Zhen is in talks to star in the new film "Dune" directed by "Blade Runner 2049"

It is reported that Legendary Pictures is currently negotiating with actor Chang Chen about joining Dune. The film is produced by Legendary Pictures, adapted from Frank Herbert's novel, and directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival).

The script of Dune was written by Villeneuve, Eric Roth and Joe Spaihts. The story of Dune revolves around the future world, where the family of the young Paul Atreides controls the desert planet Arrakis. The power of Arrakis means the sole control of all precious resources. Such tempting power has attracted disputes among the noble families. When Paul's family is betrayed, Paul leads a rebel army to embark on a journey to regain control of Arrakis. Dune is full of themes about the complex relationship between politics, religion, and man and nature.

Zhang Zhen has had many important works recognized by the international film industry. In addition to being invited to serve as a jury member at the last Cannes Film Festival, his film "The Assassin" also won the Best Director Award at Cannes. His representative works include the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, Ang Lee's "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and Wong Kar-wai's Kung Fu epic "The Grandmaster". At the same time, his starring roles in "Mr. Dragon" and the two "Knife of the Assassin" have also been recognized.

Zhang Zhen's new work this year, "Snowstorm" directed by Tsai Ing-wen, won the New Wave Award at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival in 2018 and will be released soon.
