IDW Publishing has announced that it will be restarting the Transformers comics series in March 2019. The new Transformers comics will focus on the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons on Cybertron before the war, and gradually push the entire planet into the abyss of war. IDW Publishing said, "The reboot comics will explore Cybertron in a way that players have never seen before, and also let players understand the robot planet before the war." The new story will be written by Brian Ruckley, the author of The Godless World trilogy, and illustrated by Angel Hernandez, the author of Star Trek: Discovery – Succession, and Ron Joseph, the author of Micronauts: The Wrath of Kaza. "We've been eager to begin a new chapter in the Transformers story," said Michael Kelly, Vice President of Global Publishing at Hasbro. "Starting this series is a major challenge, but we have the team to meet it." |
