Netflix's new sci-fi film "Atlas" released an official trailer, starring Jennifer Lopez and Simu Liu, and will be aired on May 24.

In last year's The Mother, Jennifer Lopez battled an enemy deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Now, she's heading into space to fight a new enemy. In the new film, Atlas, the versatile performer plays the protagonist Atlas, a government analyst sent to a distant world on a mission to defeat her most ancient enemy.

Set in a high-tech future, John Carver is a galaxy-spanning adventure from a screenplay by Leo Sadarian and Aaron Elly Collett and directed by Brad Peyton, who also directed San Andreas and Rampage.

Story summary:

Atlas Shepherd (Lopez) is a brilliant but cynical data analyst with a deep suspicion of artificial intelligence. She joins a mission to capture a rebellious robot with a mysterious past. However, when the plan goes awry, her only hope of saving humanity's future from the threat of artificial intelligence is to trust it.
