Statement from the three major platforms and six major film and television companies: The highest pay for actors will not exceed 50 million

Today, the three video websites iQiyi, Youku, and Tencent jointly issued a joint statement with the six major film and television production companies Noon Sunshine, Huace Film and Television, Lemon Studios, Ciwen Media, Yaoke Media, and New Classics Media to jointly curb the unreasonable pay of stars: for all film and television dramas purchased and produced by the three video websites and the six major film and television companies, the pay for a single episode of an actor (including tax) shall not exceed RMB 1 million, and the total pay (including tax) shall not exceed RMB 50 million.

In addition, the statement said that they will jointly resist tax evasion, illegal phenomena such as "yin-yang contracts", and promise to strengthen self-discipline in film and television production, purchase and sales, and put an end to all kinds of blatant tax evasion and corruption.

The three video websites, together with the six production companies, will jointly establish a blacklist mechanism. Once verified, they will stop all cooperation and report the situation to the relevant departments in accordance with the law.
