Louis Koo and Lau Ching Wan star in a sci-fi blockbuster! "The Battle of Tomorrow" will be released next year

Just after the Lunar New Year, hardworking Louis Koo and Lau Ching Wan are back to work! This time they are working together on a sci-fi blockbuster "The Battle of Tomorrow", which has officially started filming in Shenzhen today. From the set photos, in addition to the leading actors Koo and Lau, the acting star Philip Keung, Hu Zitong who was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Academy Awards for "5 Steps", and the leading actor Wan Guopeng from "I'm a Passerby" are all in the film.

The advance trailer of "The Tomorrow War" ("Contradiction War"), which was exposed two years ago, is the science fiction film "Contradiction War" which has been prepared for many years by Louis Koo as the "big boss" behind the scenes. The directors of the film have been changing over the years, from the early Benny Chan and Law Chi-liang to the current Ng Hsuan-hui (Gao Hui). Ng Hsuan-hui is good at visual effects. "Storm Warriors 2", "Painted Skin", "The Warlords" and "Tai Chi 1" are all his representative works of visual effects.

The film was registered with the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television at the end of last year. Luo Zhiliang was the screenwriter. It tells the story of a world in which mysterious robots land from the bottom of the water and attack cities around the world against the backdrop of environmental deterioration, melting glaciers, food and energy shortages, global economic collapse, lack of funds to repair artificial satellites, and communication technology regressing to the 1970s. In order to protect humanity, major countries around the world form an "International Peace Alliance" to fight against the robots.

"The Battle of Tomorrow" is jointly invested and produced by Gravity Media from the mainland and One Trend Films owned by Louis Koo. As we all know, Louis Koo is a fan of science fiction blockbusters, especially superhero movies, and has countless 1:1 action figures in his private collection. "The Battle of Tomorrow" is the science fiction blockbuster he has always wanted to shoot. He has also previously acquired many companies in post-production, digital special effects and special effects makeup. The main special effects of "The Battle of Tomorrow" will be produced by Louis Koo's special effects company. He has previously expressed that he hopes to prove that Hong Kong's special effects have reached international standards through this blockbuster. The film is expected to be released in 2018.
