Is it wrong that Disney has no plans to make a sequel to "The Little Mermaid"?

According to foreign media TheDisInsider recently reported, Disney has no plans to launch a sequel to the live-action movie "The Little Mermaid 2" because the wind direction is not right now.

Disney executives had at one point considered the possibility of a "Little Mermaid" spinoff, with one idea being a series about some of the creatures in the world of "The Little Mermaid" and another idea being a big-screen spinoff movie. But now those plans have changed dramatically.

Meanwhile, Disney executives are interested in working with actress Halle Bailey, who plays the title role in the live-action film "The Little Mermaid," on another big project. However, the news has not been officially confirmed.

The live-action movie "The Little Mermaid" is adapted from the 1989 animated film version. It tells the story of a little mermaid living in the sea who resolutely gives up her country and race after falling in love with a prince, becomes a human being, and pursues love. The plot of this film is basically consistent with the original animation, but in order to cater to ZZZQ, the heroine has been changed and replaced with a black person.

The live-action film "The Little Mermaid" cost $250 million to produce and grossed over $500 million worldwide, which was a decent result, but it did meet Disney's expectations.
