Streaming platform Peacock confirmed that the American TV series of the same name adapted from the classic game "Chariots of Fire" will be renewed for a second season. At the TGA 2023 awards ceremony held yesterday, Marvel Falcon actor Anthony Mackie, who served as the lead actor and executive producer of the first season of the series, announced the news. When he took the stage to present the award, he said: "Get ready to rev your engines, you are about to embark on another journey!" Peacock then released an announcement trailer for the second season on its official channel. “I have to say a huge thank you to our incredible fans – I’ve read every comment and have been overwhelmed by the love, support and passion everyone has for Paper Bag,” showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith said in a statement to DEADLINE. “We’re so grateful to be able to continue telling the stories of John Doe, Quiet and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and terrifying new foes in the long-awaited Chariots of Fire Death Race. The mixtape is now complete and I’m so excited to get back on the road with our stellar cast and production team!” "Chariots of Fire" was nominated for the Best Game Adaptation at TGA, an award won by the live-action American TV series adapted from HBO's "The Last of Us". |
