The lead singer of the opening theme song "Love Rockets" of the "Slam Dunk" movie died of esophageal cancer

The "Slam Dunk" movie "The First Slam Dunk‎" will be officially released on December 3, 2022. The lead singer Chiba Yusuke, who sang the opening song "Love Rockets", recently passed away due to esophageal cancer at the age of 55.

Chiba Yusuke is the lead singer and guitarist of the Japanese rock band "The Birthday", which was founded in 2006. Chiba Yusuke was previously a member of "The Michelle Gun Elephant" and "Rosso".

Chiba Yusuke was first diagnosed with esophageal cancer in April this year, and the "The Birthday" band suspended all performances. But just over half a year later, Chiba Yusuke finally succumbed to the disease and passed away on November 26 accompanied by his family.

The band "The Birthday" released the obituary of Chiba Yusuke on its official Twitter today.
