Chris Evans, the actor who plays the superhero Captain America in the movies, recently responded to rumors that Marvel may be discussing bringing back the original Avengers cast to reunite for a new movie to revive the Marvel Universe. In an interview with The View, Evans said that if this is true, no one from Marvel has contacted him about it yet. “I see these reports all the time — it’s the first time for me,” he said. “I feel like every few months someone says, ‘They’ve got Donny back, Hemsworth back, Scarlett Johansson back, everybody’s coming back.’ But no one has ever talked to me about it.” When asked how he would respond if he were invited to play Captain America again, Evans said it was not impossible, but he had requirements and was very strict. He said: "I will never say 'absolutely not', but I am very protective of (this role). This is a very precious role to me, so it has to be foolproof." After "Avengers: End Game", Captain America's shield has been passed on to Falcon actor Anthony Mackie, who will also play Captain America in "Captain America 4: Brave New World". Variety previously reported that Marvel is considering letting Robert Downey Jr., the actor who died in "End Game," and Scarlett Johansson, the actor who played Black Widow, return to play their roles, and suggested that the original Avengers team be reunited. The report said that Marvel "has not yet confirmed this concept" and there is no official news. Previously, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige responded: "I've never seen that (news); is that a new rumor?", while Scarlett Johansson said that it would take a "miracle" for the original cast to return. |
