DC's "Joker" high-definition frontal stills exposed! How would you rate the final makeup photos?

The highly anticipated independent film "Joker" has been confirmed to have its world premiere at the 76th Venice Film Festival at 1 a.m. on September 1. In order to promote this alternative DC blockbuster, the cover of the latest issue of French magazine "il Venderdi (La Republique)" has revealed a high-definition frontal still of the Joker played by Joaquin Phoenix!

Joaquin Phoenix told the magazine: "This is not a superhero movie, it's not a supervillain movie, it's not about a person with special powers. This is going to be something completely different and totally new."

The director explained that the film will explore the power struggle in society and reveal how the environment forces a person to fight. According to the magazine's description, there will not be any typical "enemies" in the "Joker" movie, but will show a "fiercely competitive and violent 1980s America."

"With this film, we are not inviting people to revolt or struggle. But we want to try to explain why people can or should start a revolution."

Phoenix revealed that when he officially received the role of the Joker, the first thing he did was to study the Joker's iconic smile and how to make it look more charming. He also commented on the big framework of superhero movies: "I think that behind the excitement of these movies and their magnificent stories, there are always some incredible characters stuck in the mud and having to deal with the struggles of real life. Sometimes these things will be exposed, and sometimes they won't. So I think there are quite a few characters in the comic world that are very interesting and worthy of our study. This is also what I think attracted director Todd to create."

The independent film "Joker" will be released in North America on October 4, but it cannot be introduced in China due to its R-rating.
