Taika Waititi, the director of Thor 3 and Thor 4, said he will not direct another Thor movie in the near future. When asked about Thor 5, director Tower told Business Insider: "I know I won't be involved in it, and I will focus on other movies that I have signed on to." The filmmaker signed on to direct Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, which grossed $865 million on a $1.8 billion budget. He then followed that up with Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022, which became the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2022. In 2020, Director Ta signed a contract with Netflix to produce an animated series adapted from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". He is currently writing a "Star Wars" movie, and will later direct a live-action movie adapted from the classic Japanese animation "Akira". He discussed his current projects, saying: "That's six or seven years gone. I imagine the next Thor project will come sooner than that. But I still love Marvel, and I love working with them. I love Chris (Hemsworth, who plays Thor)." Even if he is no longer directing the next Thor, he would have no problem with it: "I would never feel like they stole it. We are in an open relationship, like if they want to use someone else, I would be happy about it. I would still get back with them one day." The director's next film, "Next Goal Wins", will be released on November 17. |
