Streaming giant Netflix will open offline stores to offer themed food and live events

IT Home reported today (October 13) that streaming giant Netflix announced plans to open a series of new retail stores called "Netflix House" where fans can immerse themselves in the world of "Stranger Things", "Squidward: Reign", "Bridgerton" and more of their favorite movies and TV shows.

Netflix's retail efforts stem from the company's experiments with pop-up stores over the past few years, Bloomberg reported Thursday. Josh Simon, Netflix's vice president of consumer products, said fans can buy apparel, try themed food and participate in on-site experiences, such as a Squidward-like obstacle course, at the Netflix House.

Netflix will open the first two Netflix House locations in the U.S. in 2025 before expanding locations around the world. Each store will feature a rotating cast of amenities, including ticketed shows and restaurants, ranging from fast casual to high-end dining, desserts, and food inspired by unscripted programming (like cooking shows) and popular series.

To give fans a taste of what Netflix House will offer, the company hosted "Queen's Ball: The Bridgerton Experience" events in 10 cities across North America (IT House Note: New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, etc.), where fans lived out their Bridgerton dreams for one night, drinking and dancing to the classical music of their favorite pop songs.

The company also opened a pop-up restaurant called Netflix Bites, where fans could enjoy food and drinks made by chefs similar to those on the cooking show, as well as "Stranger Things"-branded frozen pizza and ice cream.
