Four months after the Shazam!: Wrath of the Titans sequel hit theaters, Zachary Levi is still unsure about how the film will perform. The film barely made back $100 million. Levi recently reflected on the results of his podcast. Levy turned his attention to the critics, who were decidedly more harsh on the film. Levy was surprised by the "very strange and confusingly low" review rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and felt that some of the reviews were very unkind. Levy also shared his thoughts on how the world has changed since the release of the first Shazam! movie, which may have affected the perception of the sequel. “I think the world has changed so much, even just from the first movie to the second movie,” Levy said. “Social media has changed so much. The hate, the bullying, the trolls, the opposition, it’s just so much more hostile. I think there are people who really want to destroy certain projects because they don’t like them, or they don’t like me, or they don’t like other people involved.” Levy expressed uncertainty about the future of the "Shazam!" series. After the box office data for the first weekend in March this year was released, director David F. Sandberg announced on social media that he would temporarily stop filming superhero movies. Levy still hopes that audiences will give "Shazam! Fury of the Titans" another chance on the streaming platform. |
