DC Artist: Ben Affleck's Cancelled Batman Movie Has a New Perspective

Ben Affleck, who played Batman in Justice League and Batman v Superman, originally had a Batman standalone film that he directed and starred in, but it was later canceled and turned into a work directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson. Recently, more information about this film was revealed.

In an interview with Inverse, former DC storyboard artist Jay Oliva talked about the canceled film. He said: "I worked on a lot of Batman, and what's really cool is that it (Ben Ben's Batman movie) brings together a lot of really great Batman storylines that have never really been explored."

He added: "Ben's story will cover things that have never really been told in the comics, but it will also build on the storylines that have been told in the Batman mythology for the past 80 years and explore it from a new perspective."

Sadly, the film will never be released, and following his cameo in The Flash, it looks like Ben Affleck will be hanging up his cape for good.

In 2019, he said he would no longer play Batman, and the independent film "Batman" directed and acted by him was eventually canceled. In this regard, Olivia shared: "It (the movie) is very smart, and there are many things I like very much in it. I hope it can become a reality. At the beginning, it was really a great project. Ben had to withdraw for personal reasons, which I completely understand, but the experience of working on this project with Ben was great."

Robert Pattinson's "Batman" is also very successful, and fans who like the old man don't need to be sad, because more Batman works are coming. Pattinson will return in "Batman 2", and the spin-offs "Penguin" and "Arkham Asylum" are also in production. In the first chapter of the new DC universe "Gods and Monsters" led by director Gunn, a brand new Batman will also debut, and the first movie Robin will also debut on the big screen for the first time since "Batman and Robin" in 1997.
