Arcadian, a low-budget apocalyptic horror film starring Nicolas Cage, premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival last month and was officially released in North America on April 12. In a recent interview, the film director Benjamin Brewer mentioned the image of the nocturnal monster in the movie and said that it actually came from a classic Disney character. Benjamin Brewer said: "From the beginning, I had in mind large, nocturnal eyes, and large, spaced-apart teeth that would be incongruous for the creature's mouth. The image of the Disney character Goofy provided much of the inspiration." This is because in the Goofy movie the director watched in his childhood, Goofy's son Max turned into his father in a nightmare, and the dream in the movie became the director's childhood shadow, so it inspired a lot of the quality of the monster image. |
