Batman vs. Hypnotist Ben Affleck's new film "Hypnotist" released the first trailer

The first trailer for the suspense drama Hypnotic, directed by Robert Rodriguez (The Mandalorian Season 1, Alita Battle Angel) and starring Ben Affleck, has been released. The film is scheduled to be released on May 12.

Ketchup Entertainment acquired the U.S. rights to the film earlier this year; the project went into production in late 2021 after multiple delays due to the pandemic, but its original investor and U.S. distributor Solstice Studios went bankrupt, so Ketchup will screen it on more than 2,000 screens in the U.S. The film was made possible with the help of several former Solstice executives.

The film received good feedback at the SXSW awards ceremony. In the film, Ben Affleck plays a police detective who finds himself being hunted by a "ghost" (played by William Fichtner) while investigating a series of crimes related to his missing daughter. This mysterious person seems to have the ability to manipulate anyone through hypnosis. With the help of a psychic (played by Ellis Braga), he gradually unearths the truth.

According to Deadline, Ben Affleck is eager to get behind the project, but he's currently doing work tours for the Nike film Air and DC's The Flash, which are set to hit theaters in April and June, respectively.
