Aquaman to play anti-hero "Violent Wolf" in new DC Universe directed by Oka

According to the latest report from Variety, Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom will be actor Jason Momoa's last appearance as the iconic DC hero Aquaman. But he will not say goodbye to DC forever: in the new DC movie universe led by James Gunn, he is in talks to play "Lobo".

Also known as "The Wolf", this character is an interstellar bounty hunter. He is foul-mouthed, cigar-loving, and an "anti-hero". He was originally created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen and first appeared in Omega Man #3 in 1983.

Momoa has actually been hinting at playing the role for a while now, and it's one of his top dreams. Earlier this year, he shared a video on Instagram saying he got "great news" from Warner Bros. He previously told ET Canada that one of his dreams would come true with James Gunn and Peter Safran directing.

DC has not yet announced an independent film for the "Violent" character, but reports say the character may appear in the first movie of the new DC Universe, "Superman: Legacy."
