Mass Effect female slope voice acting: the original voice acting should return to live-action drama

News about the Mass Effect TV series at Amazon has been scarce since it was announced in 2021, but with discussions emerging around who will play each character, fans can start to look forward to the adaptation becoming a reality.

Just yesterday, actress Jennifer Hale, who voiced the female Slope Commander in the original trilogy, told Eurogamer that she is not only eager to play the role in the show, but also thinks other voice actors from the games should return to reprise their roles in the TV adaptation.

"I would vote for the return of the ramp in any form," Haile said. "That is such a precious gift and one that I will always be incredibly happy to accept."

Haier's wording of "in any form" seems to imply that the image of the famous protagonist Slope in the TV version may be adjusted, which is understandable considering that the "Mass Effect" game itself allows players to customize the protagonist's gender, occupation, name and appearance.

It's worth mentioning that the male version of Commander Shepard is voiced by Mark Meer.

Haier continued, "Regarding this TV series, I never intend to tell the creators what to do. The only thing I have to say is that I want to act! Any role, I will do my best!"

In 2013, Haile was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most successful female video game voice actor for her roles in popular series such as Baldur's Gate, Metal Gear Solid, BioShock Infinite, Halo, Overwatch, and of course, Mass Effect.

While it sounds like Haile would love to play the female version of Ramps again, the actor has voiced several other minor characters throughout the Mass Effect game series, meaning there's a good chance she could return to the screen in another smaller role.

"I think they're going to try to get as many of the original voice actors into the show as possible, in the form of guest appearances, Easter eggs, recurring and regular roles, which I think is going to be an absolutely genius move," Hale said.

The Mass Effect games feature a rich cast of voice actors, ranging from NPCs to recruitable main characters, including (but not limited to) Keith David as Captain David Anderson, Seth Green as Flight Lieutenant Jeff "Joker" Morrow, Lance Henriksen as Admiral Steven Hackett, Brandon Keener as Garrus Vakarian, Steven Barr as Udnot Rex, and Ali Hillis as Dr. Liara Tsoni.

She said: "The voice actor community is some of the most amazing performers I've ever come across, and they are the most talented, hard-working, skilled, and wonderful people I've ever met in my life in the acting field. So I'm ready for smart production companies to stop ignoring this gold mine. I completely volunteered to be on this show."
