The director of District 9 suddenly said: It is not certain whether a sequel can be made

Film director Neill Blomkamp has been very active recently. In addition to the game-adapted movie "Gran Turismo", he has also entered the gaming field and launched a new battle royale game, which made many fans think that he might shoot a sequel to the 2009 science fiction movie "District 9". But his answer poured cold water on the fans.

Blomkamp was interviewed while promoting the Gran Turismo film, and one of the questions was whether the District 9 sequel, District 10, would still be related to Sony Pictures. Blomkamp responded that if the film ever came to fruition, it would be related to Sony Pictures.

But he also said: "I don't know if this movie can be made. I'm not even sure if I want to make it now. Maybe one day in the future I will make it."

The reporter said that if the Gran Turismo movie is well received, it might help District 10, and Blomkamp admitted: "Yes, that makes sense."

In 2021, Blomkamp said that District 10 was in production and that he was writing the script with his partners. Now that his tone has suddenly changed, I wonder if he has encountered any problems. Of course, with Hollywood now in the midst of a double strike between screenwriters and actors, it is not surprising that such a change in mentality has occurred.
