The Butcher Actor from The Boys May Join the Mortal Kombat Movie Sequel

Karl Urban, the actor who plays Billy "The Butcher" in The Boys, is reportedly joining the cast of the 2021 Mortal Kombat film sequel. The Wrap first reported that the actor is being considered to play Johnny Cage, a Hollywood martial arts actor in the game.

The sequel will be directed by Simon McQuaid and written by Jeremy Slater. In addition to starring in "The Boys", Karl Urban has also made many appearances in the subculture circle, starring in blockbuster films including "Thor: Ragnarok", "Star Trek" and "The Lord of the Rings".

The 2021 Mortal Kombat movie has been one of the most popular titles on the streaming platform HBO Max since its release, attracting a large number of viewers. The original end-of-credits menu hinted that Johnny Cage would join the sequel.

The reason Johnny Cage joined the battle in the game was to prove that his kung fu and stunts in the movie were real moves, not special effects, but later he also became a member of the Earth's protectors, fighting to stop Shao Kahn's invasion.

Further updates are expected on the new film in the near future, including the plot of the film and a specific release date.
