Organizers of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France announced Thursday that the TV anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Chainsaw Man" manga will compete in the TV movie category. Specifically, the first episode of the anime will be screened in competition. An episode of the CGI animated series "Oni: Legend of Thunder" by California studio Tonko House titled "Devil Moon Rising" is also competing in the same category. Liv&Bell and Mech Cadets, also from Japan, competed in the TV movie category. Tongue competed in the short film category. Today the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will be held in the French town of the same name from June 11 to 17. The festival started in 1960 and is the oldest and largest animation film festival in the world. |
