Welcome to Derry: Prequel to IT

Sina Film reported today (February 24) that "IT" will have a prequel series "Welcome to Derry".

The series is set in the 1960s and involves the origin story of the clown Pennywise. It was developed by the film's creators Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fox, with Fox serving as the screenwriter and co-operator, and Andy Muschietti directing multiple episodes.

The 2017 film IT is set in 1989, when a series of children go missing in the town of Derry. Shrouded in terror, a group of children team up to explore the truth, and they discover that every 27 years an evil clown appears to suck the life energy of children. The 2019 sequel tells the story of the grown-up "League of Losers" fighting the clown again. The two films have grossed more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
