Star Trek spinoff starring Michelle Yeoh still in development

In 2019, Michelle Yeoh announced that she would play the heroine Captain Philippa Georgiou in the "Star Trek" spin-off series. The new series mainly tells the story of Captain Georgiou and the mysterious Area 31. Four years have passed, and there is very little news about this spin-off series. Recently, Paramount Streaming Chief Programming Officer Tanya Giles confirmed that the "Star Trek" spin-off starring Michelle Yeoh is still in development.

Earlier, Michelle Yeoh said in an interview: "Area 31 belongs to the Star Trek universe, but it is very different. It's like Mission Impossible meets Guardians of the Galaxy in space. I'm very happy to play Captain Georgiou. I'm sure she will set foot on territories that no woman has ever set foot on."
