Disney's "Moana 2" is expected to exceed $370 million in global box office during its first week

According to Deadline, as of Sunday, the global box office of Disney's animated film sequel "Moana 2" is expected to exceed $370 million in its first release.

Deadline pointed out that the North American box office of "Moana 2" is expected to reach 215 million to 220 million US dollars during the Thanksgiving period, and the international box office is expected to exceed 150 million US dollars. As of Friday, the global box office of the film has reached 193 million US dollars.

Nine more overseas markets were added on Friday, including the UK, Spain and China, bringing the total number of physical markets to 48 so far.

Moana 2 opened second in China, but that was to be expected. China’s domestic films have been strong at the box office. Social scores are encouraging, but Maoyan is currently predicting a total of about $20 million for the film’s run.

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures' "Wicked," directed by Jon M. Chu, is expected to gross $358 million worldwide through Sunday, including $95 million from 61 international markets.
