Jim Carrey plays two roles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and personally participated in the design

Although Jim Carrey had previously stated that he needed a "great script" to return to acting, in the upcoming "Sonic the Hedgehog 3", he plays two roles, Dr. Eggman and his grandfather Dr. Gerald Eggman, and even helped design the prosthetic limbs of the old Dr. Eggman.

"I mean, not only did he come back, but he doubled his workload," director Jeff Fowler said in an interview. The director even joked that he did use an unusual request to attract Jim Carrey back: "We printed the script with 24K gold ink and sent it to his door."

Fowler continued: "It was an exciting opportunity for him to create a whole new character in this world, and he threw himself into it. He helped design the prosthetics and everything. If you want to understand something, working with Jim Carrey for three movies is a lot to wrap your head around."

"It depends. If the angels come back with a script written in gold ink saying this movie is really important for people and worth seeing, then I might continue on my acting career, but I'm taking a break now," Carrey previously explained in an interview with Access Hollywood in 2022 about his future career plans.

Now, Jim Carrey is back with Sonic the Hedgehog, and this time he's playing not one, but two Eggmans. The fun is about to begin.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to be released on December 21st.
