"Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins finally broke her silence recently and spoke out about the cancellation of the third film. Jenkins posted a long article on social media to clarify that she did not leave the crew, and also confirmed that "Wonder Woman" will not continue to be filmed under the leadership of the new management. Additionally, she expressed her interest in returning to Lucasfilm's Rogue Squadron, but did not confirm whether the film would have a sequel. In a statement, Jenkins called the original report about her departure from the set of "Wonder Woman 3" pure "clickbait." She said: "I never left. I am willing to consider any request." However, under the leadership of the new management and the plan to clean up Snyder's Justice League, the status of Wonder Woman 3 is already in jeopardy. "As far as I understand, I no longer have the ability to push anything forward under the current situation. And DC is obviously in the midst of change, and I understand how difficult these decisions are." Jenkins thanked Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot for returning for Wonder Woman 3: "Gal is the greatest gift I've ever received on this journey. She is my best friend, my inspiration, my bestie. Words are not enough to describe the magic she has." Jenkins left the "Rogue Squadron" crew at first because he didn't want to affect "Wonder Woman 3", and then Disney removed "Rogue Squadron" from the filming plan. However, now Jenkins said that Lucasfilm asked her if she was interested in returning after "Wonder Woman 3", and she agreed. "They offered me a new contract. In fact, I have always been in the project because it has never stopped." However, Jenkins also said that he was not sure whether the film would be completed. The shakeup at DC continues, and with little left of the Snyderverse legacy, James Gunn recently said that Superman will have top priority under his leadership. |
