Amazon has started producing a TV series adaptation of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX's bankruptcy

While the world is still reeling from the bankruptcy and collapse of FTX, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Amazon is reportedly already working on a mini-series based on the company’s former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.

According to Variety, the Russo brothers' AGBO production company will be responsible for producing the show. Although the Russo brothers considered taking over, Amazon chose Dave Weil, co-creator of the American drama "Invasion", to be responsible for the production of this unnamed 8-episode miniseries.

The show will tell the story of how Bankman-Fried co-founded FTX and led the company into a liquidity crisis that ultimately led to his ouster. The director and casting of the series have not yet been announced, but Amazon is said to be considering some of the actors who have worked with the Russo brothers during their time on Marvel blockbusters such as "Avengers: Endgame."

In the announcement of the series, Amazon Studios CEO Jennifer Salke said the Russo Brothers were ideal partners, while the Russo Brothers said the chaos of FTX was ripe for adaptation into a series.

"(The series) will cover a lot of territory - celebrities, politics, academia, technology, crime, sex, drugs and the future of modern finance," the Russo brothers said in the announcement. "At the center of it all sits an extremely mysterious figure whose motivations are complex and potentially dangerous. We want to uncover the reasons behind this."

Amazon has not released any other information about the series, but according to Variety, Amazon plans to start formal filming sometime next spring.
