Night of the Living Dead to be filmed in new version

According to foreign media Deadline recently reported, the well-known zombie film "Night of the Living Dead" will be filmed into a new live-action movie, directed by Nikiatu Giusu ("The Nanny"), written by LaToya Morgan ("The Walking Dead"), and produced by Village Roadshow Pictures, Sanibel Films, Vertigo and others.

"The original Night of the Living Dead still resonates today, and zombies are different in every era," said Nikiatto Giusu. "Today's zombies reflect the way humans treat each other and show us who the real monsters are."

“Night of the Living Dead is one of the great cornerstones of horror, and I’m thrilled to be playing in the sandbox that George Romero built,” said LaToya Morgan. “I’m excited to push the envelope and find new ways to tell this exciting new story.”

George Romero's ex-wife Christina said: "I'm excited about the new team. They come together to expand on the original film and re-examine the world created by George, which will be a treat for fans."

The original version of "Night of the Living Dead" was released in 1968, directed by George A. Romero, and starred Duane Jones, Judith O'Dea, Carl Hardman, etc. It is the pioneer of the cannibalistic zombie theme, and subsequently inspired many sequels and similar works such as "The Walking Dead". The plot tells the story of the mysterious zombies resurrected, and several protagonists are trapped in a farm in Pennsylvania and try to survive.
