Sony's investment in FromSoftware may allow these works to be adapted into films and TV series. Hermen Hulst, president of the PlayStation Studios division focused on adapting PS intellectual property into movies and TV series, told Reuters: "You should consider cooperation in game development first, but it is not inconceivable because our PlayStation Productions is working hard to explore opportunities." While PlayStation Studios has yet to adapt an IP that isn't its own into a TV or film project, its now-established partnership with FromSoftware could bring about some changes. Hulst hinted that Sony's investment in the group might lead to consideration of an Elden Ring or Bloodborne movie or TV series. Sony recently acquired a 14.09% stake in FromSoftware from its parent company Kadokawa Corporation. |
