CBS to create detective medical drama with Watson as the protagonist

According to foreign media reports, CBS will create a detective medical drama focusing on Holmes' assistant, Dr. Watson, with Craig Sweeney (Elementary) as the screenwriter and executive producer. In Elementary, this role is played by Lucy Liu, while Watson in the British drama Sherlock is played by Martin Freeman, and Dr. Watson in the Sherlock Holmes film series is played by Jude Law.

The series is set a year after Watson's friend and partner Sherlock Holmes died at the hands of Professor Moriarty. John Watson resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic specializing in rare diseases. Watson's past life is not over yet, and Moriarty and Watson will write their own chapters for this story that has attracted audiences for more than a century.

This investigative medical drama stars a modern version of one of history's greatest detectives, Watson, as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving the greatest mystery of all: disease, and the ways it disrupts our lives.
