Hugh Jackman plays Logan again, director of "Logan 3" responds to controversy

Today (September 28), Ryan Reynolds announced that Hugh Jackman, the famous actor in Deadpool 3, will play Wolverine Logan again. In response, James Mangold, the director of the movie Wolverine 3, which is adapted from the comic book Wolverine Logan, seemed to be "quite critical". His response on Twitter sparked heated discussions.

Mangold tweeted a GIF of Wolverine clone X-24 impaling Logan on a tree stump in Logan: Wolverine. This is the wound that ultimately leads to Logan's death in the film.

Fans on Twitter immediately responded to this response, including accusations that "You are not the one who can make the final decision on the story of Wolverine." Some hardcore fans of the series said: "Wolverine 3 has never been a canon work, because the story says that no new mutants have been born for 20 years." And those Marvel fans who are very much looking forward to the new work said: "Everything is possible in the multiverse!"

However, a few hours later, Mangold was besieged and forced to clarify his intentions. In a subsequent tweet, he said: "OMG, calm down everyone. I was just kidding! I have no problem (with Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine again)! Logan will always be there. Multiverse or prequel, time warp or impulse, canon or not, there is no need for reason, I can't wait to see what crazy works my dear friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman come up with!"

In Logan 3, Logan's healing ability, which could bring him back to life, gradually weakened, and he died after the final battle. At the time, Hugh Jackman also said that this was his last time playing Wolverine, which was also one of the promotional highlights of the film.
