Netflix's new drama "Sandman" has been very popular since its launch, but the show's creators are worried that its current success is not enough for Netflix to renew it for a second season. "The Sandman" writer and executive producer Neil Gailman answered a fan's question about why a second season of "The Sandman" is not guaranteed. “Because Sandman is such a big money-burning show, we have to be really, really good for Netflix to pay us to do another season,” Gailman explained. “So, yes, we were the most watched show in the world for the last two weeks, but that might not be enough.” The Sandman TV series was announced in 2019, and it was reported at the time that it was a huge deal and the most expensive series produced by DC Entertainment at the time. Gailman also revealed how Netflix measures the success of a show. He said Netflix looks at completion rates -- the percentage of people who actually finish watching a show or movie -- rather than just total viewership. So if you want to contribute to the success of Sandman, be sure to watch the entire show. |
